CALL CENTERS PLAN FOR GROWTH IN 2001 DESPITE SOFTENING ECONOMY
BOULDER - April 3, 2001 - When Call Center Careers surveyed
492 call center professionals to determine what their staffing
plans were for the remainder of 2001, an astounding 48% voted
that they would be increasing the number of staff in their
call center despite the softening of the US economy. In
contrast, only 38% voted that they would be reducing headcount
and 14% voted that they would neither be expanding or reducing
headcount.
The results of this survey demonstrate how seriously companies
view the importance of providing outstanding customer service.
While headcount is being decreased in other departments, call
center headcount is rising.
"Despite the slowdown in the economy, the results of this
survey shows that customer care is a still high priority among
North American companies. One sure way to hurt your bottom
line is to not invest in customer satisfaction. So in good
times or tough times, the customer is still number one, as it
should be," said Bob Gills, CEO of Call Center Careers.
