BOULDER, CO, April 25, 2003 - When Call Center Careers surveyed 873
call center professionals to determine their reasons for calling in sick,
other than actually being sick, 34% of respondants revealed that they call
in sick because they do not feel appreciated for the work they do. 27%
indicated that they call in sick because they like calling in sick.
Of the remaining respondents, 19 % say they call in sick because they don't
like their jobs, 10% call in sick because they don't like the company they work
for and 9% don't like how their boss treats them.
"Its clear that job satisfaction is very important to employee
productivity," according to Bob Gills, President and CEO of
Call Center Careers
"Obviously, if an employee is out 'sick', they aren't being
productive. As time goes by, we continue to see that employee job
satisfaction makes a huge difference in many aspects of an employee's
